Mom's Support Groups
CHEER has 2 Mom's Support Group Meetings, one in Alpharetta
and one in Suwanee. The Mom's Support Group meetings are a great place to really
get connected and supported in CHEER, as well as to glean some wisdom from
others who are on your same journey. We share ideas on organization, scheduling,
'how people do school', biblical training and character development, as well as
share curriculum for a variety of subjects, and other helpful ideas and hints.
The Suwanee CHEER Mom's Support Group meets on the first Thursday of every month from 7 pm-9 pm. The meetings are held at the home of Dania Davern and are moderated by Anita Mellott. Each month we will discuss a different topic relevant to our homeschool journey,
and have a time of fellowship. Everyone is invited to join us. If you have any questions or need more information, please contact Anita Mellott at anitamellott@cheerhomeschool.com.
Our Alpharetta Mom's Support Group meetings will be held on Tuesdays. The topics and dates will be sent over the loop. If you are interested, please contact
Sheila Catanzarite at
sheilacatanzarite@cheerhomeschool.com.
Park Day
Over the Summer, CHEER will continue with 2 of our Park Days.
On Wednesday mornings, we will generally plan to meet at WP Jones Park from 10 - 12:30 ish (bring a lunch and stay longer). We may have some pool days. Stay tuned to the CHEER loop for more information or contact Barbara McKnight at
barbaramcknight@cheerhomeschool.com.
CHEER also has a park day in Suwanee. We meet every Thursday afternoon(weather permitting) at the Playtown Suwanee, next to the new Suwanee Library. Playtown Suwanee has a large playground area that is entirely fenced in with only one entrance. If you need directions or have questions please contact
Sara Graham at

Homeschooling High School
Homeschooling High School is the best
part of homeschooling because, by this time, your student is generally self
directed, somewhat motivated to finish their work and accomplish their goals and
dreams, and has a number of interests, which they can develop and hone through
their high school years.

Enrichment Day
Enrichment Day is a volunteer, parent-led educational experience, where home schooling families come together for a creative, academic, social, and spiritual experience. Every Mom or Dad must agree to co-teach one class in the K5-6th grade during the year with another Mom or Dad. Additionally, paid professional instructors rotate through the classes. There is a charge of $40 per child to cover paid teachers, snacks and supplies. Babies (birthday March 1, 2007 or later) are free. For our preschool students we have assigned regular teachers and assistants for the benefit of our younger kids to see the same faces each month. The December Enrichment Day is a special day called Art of the Season just in time for Christmas gift giving. Our K5 and up students rotate through many art or craft stations to make wonderful creations which they wrap up as gifts for their family. There is an additional charge of $8 per child for Art of the Season supplies.
